Dr. Jabaidah is an educationalist who has more than 20 years of teaching and learning experience, and related administration. She is a passionate advocate for agriculture education, and learning by doing through experiences. She began her career as an Education Officer teaching Mathematics, Science and Agriculture subjects in secondary schools before joining the Curriculum Development Department at the Ministry of Education primarily responsible for the national curriculum for Agriculture subjects in secondary schools. She obtained her master's degree in Education from the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) where she completed a pioneer study on the Problems and Issues in the Teaching and Learning of Agriculture in Secondary Schools of Brunei Darussalam. Her PhD from the Newcastle University (UK) is specifically about the quest of finding quality and relevance (through the threshold concepts lens) in the learning of Agriculture for gearing curriculum innovation. Her research has made Brunei debut in the world's list of threshold concept research community website. She joined Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education in 2007 as a lecturer in Vocational and Technical Education (VTE) in the teacher training programme, and has supervised a wide range of Master of Teaching students' research in various learning areas including: Health, Safety & Environment; Food Science & Nutrition; Cookery & Culinary Skills; Nursing & Health Sciences; Agriculture & Agro-Technology; Engineering; and many others.
