Thuraya Farhana completed her PhD in Management research in the School of Business, University of Surrey. The title of her thesis is ‘Implementng performance management in Brunei: a case study of public sector reform’. Thuraya obtained her first degree in BSc Business Studies from Glamorgan University in 2007, and graduated with MSc Management (International Management) from Swansea University in 2008. Her master research was about the impact of globalisation on business and management in Brunei Darussalam. As part of her professional development, Thuraya participated in academic conferences in the University and other places, namely European Business Research Conference (EBRC), Sheffield Institute for International Development and British Academy of Management. She has published one paper titled ‘performance management in the Brunei public Sector’ in conference proceeding of EBRC. Before she started her PhD, Thuraya worked as a general officer in the Human Resource and Administration Division, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) for seven months from June – December 2009, which provided her unique understanding of the opportunities challenged presented in the business world.
Her research interests situate in the areas of strategic management, public policy and management, human resource management and organisational behaviour.
