Azman Ahmad is Deputy Vice-Chancellor (or Deputy President) of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and Associate Professor at the Institute of Policy Studies. Prior to that, he also held various administrative positions at UBD including Assistant Vice Chancellor, Dean of Faculty of Business, Economics and Policy Studies, Dean of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education, and Interim Director of Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Centre for Islamic Studies.
He received his PhD in Environmental Science (Charles Sturt University, Australia 2000), Master of Arts in Environment, Development and Policy (University of Sussex, UK 1995), Diploma in Social Science (University of Kent, UK 1992) and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Public Policy and Administration (UBD 1993). In 2010, he completed the Columbia Senior Executive Programme at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University, New York, USA.
His teaching and research interests include environmental management, natural resource conservation, tourism and sustainable development, Islam and the environment, and Islamic tourism.
