Dr Haji Rozaiman Makmun

Rozaiman Makmun is an assistant professor at Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education (SHBIE), University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD). He obtained PhD in Education from Malaysia National University (UKM) in 2015. During his tenure at UBD, he was appointed to various positions and program leaders. He was Program Leader for Graduate Professional Development and Program Leader for School Partnership for multiple years. His area of specialization are Malay Literature Education, Malay Language and Literacy Education, and moral values in education. He has published many articles and a dozen of books throughout his career. The latest book entitled Brunei Darussalam Educational Policies in Six Decades: A Study of Developments and Challenges, published by the Brunei Historical Society (2020); and Theory and Reflection: Teaching Practice Experiences published by Dewan Bahasa Pustaka Brunei (2021). Both of these books are co-authors with other researchers. And the latest publications are two book chapters in Globalization, Education, and Reform in Brunei Darussalam which was published by Palgrave MacMillan, Switzerland, entitled “Internalizations Strategies of the Malay Islamic Monarchy Philosophy in Year 7 Curriculum in Brunei Darussalam.” and “Malay Language and MIB Teacher Educator’s Perceptions of the Year 7.” Rozaiman won silver medal in Eduinnovation 2020, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia; and silver medal in Knovasi 2021, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. And the latest is champions in 1000 ASEAN Teachers Malay Poem (10 March 2021).
