Pg Dr Norhazlin binti Pg Haji Muhammad is currently an Assistant Professor at Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education. She obtained her early education at Arabic Schools (Arabic Stream) in Brunei Darussalam with Upper Secondary Arabic School in Syariah stream. Her educational degrees are in;

Pg Dr Norhazlin is an expert in the area of Islamic Education, Islamic Studies, Islam in Brunei and the History and Development of Education in Brunei Darussalam. Her research interest includes contemporary issues in Islamic Education and Islamic Studies, traditional and contemporary thought of Muslim scholars in Islamic Education and Islamic Studies, Comparative Waqaf system, Islam and Women studies and Islam in South-East Asia and Europe. Pg Dr Norhazlin supervises PhD and Master thesis in the area of Islamic Civilisation and Contemporary Issues.

Pg Dr Norhazlin is interested in supervising PhD and Master students (medium of instruction Malay and English) in the area of contemporary Issues in Islamic education and Islamic studies, curriculum and pedagogy, comparative thought and philosophy among Muslim and Western Scholars, Islam in South-East Asia and Europe. She was affliated to the Sultan Omar Ãli Saifuddien Centre for Islamic Studies from 2012 to 2020 and held administrative posts as Deputy Director and Director of the centre. She is an internal assessor for PhD theses at SOASCIS, SHBIE & APB and has supervised PhD and Master theses in the area of Islamic Education and Islamic Studies and Contemporary Issues.

Pg Dr Norhazlin previously worked closely with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Religious Affairs in training religious teachers for the School-Based Assessment for Learning (SBAfL) programme and other types of professional consultancy. She was invited as a visiting lecturer at the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College from 2011 to 2015.
