Dr. Jabaidah Bungsu is an educator with over 25 years of experience as a teacher, curriculum developer, and university lecturer. She is a passionate advocate for agriculture education, and learning by doing through experiential learning to create meaningful and impactful outcomes. She began her career in secondary schools as an Education Officer teaching Mathematics, Science and Agriculture subjects before joining the Curriculum Development Department at the Ministry of Education primarily responsible for secondary schools' Agriculture curriculum. She obtained a master's degree in Education from Universiti Brunei Darussalam and completed a pioneer study on the problems and issues in the Agriculture teaching and learning in secondary schools of Brunei Darussalam. Her PhD from the Newcastle University (UK) is specifically about the quest of finding quality and relevance (through the threshold concepts lens) in the learning of Agriculture for gearing towards curriculum innovation. Her research has made Brunei debut in the world's list of threshold concept research community website. She joined Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education in 2007 as a lecturer in Vocational-Technical Education in the teacher training programme, and successfully supervised students' research on a wide variety of learning areas including: Agriculture & Agro-Technology; Health, Safety & Environment; Food Science & Nutrition; Cookery & Culinary Skills; Nursing & Health Sciences; Engineering & Construction; and many others.
