AKM Ahsan Ullah is Associate Professor and Deputy Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (graduate studies and research) at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD). Dr Ullah worked at the American University in Cairo (AUC), Saint Mary’s University, University of Ottawa, McMaster University, Dalhousie University, Canada; City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. He has extensively contributed to refereed journals. He contributed at least 35 chapters in a number of books and published 17 books.
My career objective is to work with a reputed academic institution that will provide with a good platform to utilize my teaching, research and administration skills and will help me to grow my career. I am a dedicated instructor with experience in teaching, research, and service in the area of Social Sciences. My passions combine a focus on student achievement, scholarly work, presenting and publishing at conferences, and maintaining thought leadership in peer reviewed journals. I am deeply invested in earning tenure through administrative service, committee contributions, and an achievement-oriented approach to teaching. I have two masters degrees: one is in public administration and the other in regional development planning. My PhD is in Asian and International Studies.
Sociology of migration, and refugee; globalization, development and HIV/AIDS; climate change; humanitarian work, Politics and religion of East, South and Southeast Asia, women empowerment, NGOs, poverty, international and rural development analysis, international treaties.
